New Camera help

Hi everyone,

I am new to this board and currently in the market for a new camera. I figured I would ask you guys here for some help. and girls too!..

I am re-searching for a camera that will give me excellent action and still shots. All in one great package.

I have been reading alot about the D300. One of my questions is what is the difference between the d300 and the d200 models? I read somewheres the only difference is the body and that the 300 just has more feachers. Also, I read that the d200 has low battery indicator and intermittent AF issues?

Do you guys think that for what I am looking for in my photo's that the Nikon d200 with the Nikon 2.8 70-200 vr lens would be good or should I look into Cannon and what kind would everyone recomend?
