Hi everyone, I thought I would share my daguerreotype I made today when I went downtown. Feel free to leave comments or feedback. Thank You

This literally makes me salivate. I can't stop staring.

Is all the dust intentional? I don't remember any of our old family tin-types having all the dust spots. But I'm in agreement with Aquarium: it's a great shot and i find it captivating.

out of curiosity, how did you scan it? Daguerrotypes use silver plates, and on a flatbed scanner, it would just be black.

Thank You for responding! The dust was intentional. I wanted to make it look over 100 years old. What I did was I mounted my digital camera on a tripod. Placed my daguerreotype in the sun to bring out it's brilliance and beauty. Because there was a reflection of my camera on the plate I placed black velvet in front of the tripod legs. Then snapped a picture.

Great! I've seen only a few of daguerreotypes and I find them so interesting. The picture does look old, that's pretty neat!
