New guy looking for some critique

Hey guys, my names Will and i'm new to bth the world of photoshop and the forums. I was hoping that you guys could critique one of my first "mashups," that I entered into a contest. The theme was plants and candy, so I decided to merge a sunflower with a brown M&M. Can you guys check it out and offer some tips on how to improve? I would try getting your own picture of and M&M to use, that way it is higher res and wil look much better.

This look s like a quick cut n paste job in an otherwise, good exposure.

Also... might I suggest adding some M&Ms or something that makes people think some or all of the little flowers in the background are M&Ms? if you know what I mean...

Its probably a lot more work, but the way it is I see only 2 M&M flowers in the whole field...
