New Guy

Hello from Maryland. I'm new to this site but I am an older guy, or basically a living fossil.
I did a lot of landscape photography from the 70's through early 90's but when digital became more than a temporary fad I threw in the towel. Loved shooting film with my Nikon F series with 64 ISO slide film.
Now am finally ready to test the waters, but I am not pleased with how EVF has replaced the optical view finder. Willing to live with looking at the LCD and not exclusively the viewfinder.

Didn't mean to be long winded, but if we are all friends here it is nice to know people's background.

The Nikon DSLRs still use optical and will mount the old glass, though some of the consumer bodies may not be able to meter.

Thank you for the help. At this point due to budget I am positive I will be choosing a consumer.version. I'm starting to think I will simply need to adapt to LCD. Even after my eye procedure it is still hard for me to see through the viewfinder of my current Bridge camera.
