Hey all,
So last time I posted my first HDRs and got some great pointers.
I'd like to know what you guys think about those new ones I took recently in Costa Rica & Bocas Del Toro :)
compliments & criticism is welcome!

They're all good, but from what I have recently learned (on this forum), here's what I think I see.

Number one is a cool comp, but the shadows seem too dark and that bright spot on the left is really distracting. Your eye goes straight to that spot. How many exposures did you use here? I had a shot recently that had this same problem. It turns out I needed more info to bring those dark/bright areas out. I've been doing 7 exposures lately for scenes where there is a lot of dynamic range and it has helped a lot.

Number two looks ok to me. It might look a bit too grungy for my taste, but that's just me. Also, I think the horizon line is not straight. Goes up from left to right.

Number three is a really cool scene. I wonder how many exposure here. Maybe the black point is a bit too high? Those areas on the left are a little too dark.

Nice shots!

It seems Danny has been paying attention, if not to me, then to someone else on the forum. I agree with what he had to say. I think your last shot is dynamite. Lots of mystery as to whats up ahead. Maybe some Highlight/Shadows would bring out some of the darkness in the bushes, but otherwise I like this shot. It has the feelings of Alice in Wonderland or Lord of the Rings. Im expecting anything to come out of that bright fog.

Thanks guys, very helpful !

# 1 - The bright spot on the left is what i liked about that pic, the way the sun reflects on the water. When you pointed it out i now see that it is really distracting.
# 2 - T
he horizon line is not straight, wasn't paying attention to it. Easy fix though.
# 3 - My fav pic. To be honest I added more
darkness in the bushes to give it a more of a mystery feel. Maybe I exaggerated just a tad :)

I have been paying attention on this forum (to you as well) and doing a lot of research. ;-)

Now that you've described the intention behind the darker look, it does kind of add to the mysterious feeling of the photograph. I wouldn't change it!

Yea, i think the darkness on the side adds a lot.
I really like the new finishing touch the added to photomatix. Makes things a lot easier.

Like em...good work.

Esp the first one. Nice dreamy look.
