What's new

New here, not new to photography. First model shoot.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Like I said this was the first time working with a model so it was all a learning process for me. #4 was kind of a candid (she was in the middle of posing) but she ended up liking it alot.

2 an 3 seem to be the only ones that have something going for it, in my opinion. i would've pushed her back into the shaded area in the background, and shot there. using the bright ground as a fill light.

i would've also gotten in a little closer. the posing is a little off though. she may be a good model to you, but sometimes good isn't good enough. her poses still look a little forced, or she doesn't know where to put her hands. do you do art direction on your shots?

Well, I really like them. I think she's gorgeous, and I like her poses. I like the location, and I don't have an issue with the lighting at all in the first three. #2 is my favorite, because it focuses more on the model, and you can see more detail in the black dress. The last two are interesting, but the shadows on the neck are pretty extreme.

Thanks for the advice, and what do you mean by art direction?

I guess it's all a matter of personal opinion, but I agree with the shadows on the last two. Thankyou though

I agree with everyone and the worst for me is #3. her face is so tan and the rest of her body is zombie pale. not cute. Try shooting at a later time of day, too bright.
