New Nature Shots...Experimenting

I think you need to learn composition and then about the exposure trinity. Come back and post more once you know those things.

Are they scans of prints on normal printer paper, or just really noisey? They look noisier than a noisey thing in Mr. Noisey's house, Noisey Manor on Noisey Road, in Noisey-upon-Noise, NO1 5EY

I think the film may have been expired, based on the graininess and colour shift.

OP - Not a bad first go, but you have some work to do on your composition & exposure. Keep shooting & have fun :)

Hmm, looks like expired 800+ ISO color film ... underexposed ... prints were lightened to compensate ... then scanned on a flat bed.

Am I close ?

I agree.
It sure does look like old expired film and you are underexposing.
Make sure you're using fresh film and use a speed that's suitable for the shots you're taking.

Make sure you get the scans right too or there's no way to accurately display or judge your images.

As for composition, you need to find something in the image that you consider the main subject.
Then you have to compost the image so the viewers eye is drawn to it.
And remember, not everything that looks good to your eyes when you're standing there will look good in a photo.

It tales a while to tell them apart.

... though I will have to say that Ihave seen Digital shooters attempt to post-process their shots to look like this.

Come to see feedback of this picture, to plus my Photography skill.

Being a noob myself, I know that these still need a lot of work. The best IMO is the one of the cat as you actually have a focus point. You really need to work on your noise though

Ditto to what the previous people said. Dont forget to learn the rule of thirds too.
