I took some pictures of my new Battery grip today, i have a couple lenses too but decided not to include them in this picture. I used my ambient lighting with some white poster boards for fill light, a normal piece of glass with a black sheet under. And this was shot with my moms point and shoot on a Tripod.

With a bit of help from Photoshop i achieved this

The grip is essentially lost in the black background and invisible, because the light is coming from above, not from camera left and lower.

A white or light colored background would have worked better to show the grip and isolate the camera and grip.

Good, but a little dark. The camera needs to be pulled off the background with another light, but you were only using ambient so that would be hard. Good job.

damn, for a point and shoot these are really nice! +1 on the grip being lost though, i couldnt see it until i looked for it.

Thanks for the replies, it was difficult working with the light because i only had an extra helping hand holding a white poster board on the bottom left, if i had one on the right it would have been good i think. Ill go back and see if i can add more light do the back

How about putting a small lamp under the glass table with it angled toward the back ground.

Not too bad with a P&S though...

Great little setup you have. Love mine and it shoots high ISO better than my D300.
