Photos OK to edit
So here it is:

What do you think on it? What should I change next time I shot photos like this?

Image Data:

EOS 50D + Sigma 17-70 at 17mm with f/11 ISO 100. 2 expositions were combined lake and houses were shot with 6 sec expo and the sky was shot with 1 sec expo.

I agree if you crop some of the sky out . Maybe try it just above the top of the trees . What editing program are you using ?

Here is the new version:

Cropped sky a bit and added some saturation.

Do you think its better than the original?

Use a graduated neutral density filter and a polarizing filter.

I did a quick, rough edit of what you have posted. I used ACR and CS5:

sorry but that looks terrible, there is nothing natural there.

I dont see a subject, I see alot of distractions. Is it the pier? The reflections? The trees? The houses? I find my eyes roaming the whole shot seeking a focus point.

Basically I wanted to shoot a pier with calm water under it, you mean that the trees and houses ruin the shot?

Well; I like the pier, the calm water and the reflection but I think the houses clutter the shot and just don't see enough to pull it out.
After thinking about it before posting I think its too centered. The pier is and the shore is. I think if cropped differently it might work better. I'm going to work with it.

It doesn't do much for me. Color wise, it seems rather flat.
