Well, my employer once again paid out on our unused PTO rather than leting us roll it over into next year, so I decided to treat myself to a couple new toys.

The smaller of the two white ones (on the right) I've had for about a year, but the other two are new. They are the Horizon Hobby FAZE (red) and the Blade PICO QX (white with propeller guards). Hard to tell from the pictures, but the two smaller ones are about the size of a US quarter, and the one in the middle is about the size of a half dollar.

Although billed as toys (and priced accordingly), these things are really quite stable and a hoot to fly. The FAZE requires a pretty steady hand, and it would be helpful to have some previous quad knowledge since it is really quite touchy and responsive. The PICO QX is far more forgiving, but pretty underpowered. Between the two the only one I could recommend for a beginner would be the PICO, but even then there are far better choices.

Either way, it's fun to add new toys to the hangar, even if I am almost 40 years old.
