that's a pretty strange lookin thing... looks almost like a cactus kinda

They've actually been in the system quite awhile. The mushroom polyp (orange thing) is about the size of a silver dollar and is waging war with the button polyps (green things). The buttons are about the size of a dime. You can see how the edge of the mushroom is whitish in areas and not even--it's being stung by the buttons. Likewise, the bottom buttons aren't opened up fully--they're being stung by the mushroom. One of nature's many tiny battles.

I haven't done a lot with photography in the tank lately. Just haven't been motivated, and also haven't had anything new to photograph. Being out of work for the past 3 months has put a big crimp in my aquarium budget! hehe Now that I'm back working again I can afford to put a little bit of change into new stuff.
