New to forum, 1st pics

Hi all,
I recently got my first 'proper' camera and went crazy, taking pics of everything. Here's a couple of pics that I would like your comments on. I am starting a photography course in April, so I am really a beginner.

Can't wait to hear from all of you....

#1 nothing is in focus
#2 Cute dog, but it is usually better to have some space in front of a face to "look" into, also could use a little more light on the face. Otherwise a pleasing composition with no distractions from the subject and good focus/depth of field.
#3 Too bad it's not sharp. Could be improved by cropping out all the empty space on the right to emphasize the birds.
#4-7 These are all mostly well composed: no distractions, subject nicely emphasized. I think each could be improved by cropping all around: too much dead space. The focus is not spot on, tho not bad.

Thank you for your comments, I will keep the tips in mind next time, and I will try cropping the others.




I am so excited and enthused, I just want to take pics all day long...LOL
