Not a bad early attempt at all!

The crop is super-duper tight! Most say that chopping off any part of the head is a no-no, some say that the forehead is okay. You never want to chop off a chin as it will cause the face to totally lose proper shape. The chin is funny in this image, but if printed and framed it would be cut off.

You can always crop in post, but you can't always add more to the photo.

Agreed, the exposure and focus looks right on, but I think you should have backed off just a hair. The forehead doesn't bother me as much as the closeness of the chin to the edge of the frame.

dof is very shallow making the far eye to fall soft.
When the subject is so close/tight, this effect makes it very noticeable.

I would zoom out a little bit and use a higher aperture. With a close up like this you really want some more depth of field.
