At this point Mleek, I think that I am going to take your advice and purchase the Pentax KR body and 18 - 55 mm f3.5-5.6 lens but I am also going to add the Pentax SMCP-DA 35mm f/2.4 Al Wide Angle auto focus lens to the the package. I don't know if this math actually works or not but if you add 18 to 35 and divide by 2, the result is 26.5 mm. If you add 3.5 to 5.6 and divide by 2, the result is 4.55. That.......to me.....indicates that the zoom lens is already to 4.55 f stop at 26.55 mm compared to the prime lens being at 2.4 @ 35 mm. As you said, it's more about the lenses for my application. But speaking of that issue, would there be any huge advantage to me...... for this application..... to jump to the Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm f1.4 standard auto focus lens? Just curious. My philosophy is to buy right the first time because it's always cheaper in the long run. What's the point of having an inexpensive lens if you never use it because you are not happy with the results?
Garden tractors on their own are about six feet in length and stand about three plus feet high. If I find myself having to shoot indoors in an outbuilding with not so great ambient light, do you think that I could get away with using two wireless Yongnuo YN-468 Speedlites if I stage the tractor in front of a light coloured background?
