Newbie- sharing some of my stuff

Hi all-
Brand new here, just found you guys today. I'm Breanna and I've been shooting semi-seriously for about 7 months. CC is always welcome on any of my photos. I guess I will just jump right in to the forums. I'm the mom to a 4 1/2 month old who is my main subject at this point. I have 4 shoots lined up in the next 2 weeks which I am very excited about!

Don't know if its proper ettiquite to share so many, but whatever. I'll learn! :thumbup:

WAYYYYYY to many photos. If you want C&C you need to limit your submission to one or two photos. Also you may want to consider listing your images with numbers for reference purpose.

As far as the images go they are pretty nice and not very beginerish.

Some nice photos... I thing the sweet little baby with the Santa hat is adorable.. and the family at the bottom, great capture of enthusiasm! I also really like the detail of the Christmas tree.

How'd you get these shoots? Do you have an online portfolio? How'd you get your name out there?

Two of them are referrals from friends, and two of them (a senior portrait and an infant session) were from a free advertisement that I posted on a community website. Prices are low right now, but that's because I still need practice/experience. A real website would make me more "legit" too. lol. I link to my flickr currently.

Nice set of shots. Tiny bit of camera shake in some of them. A touch overexposed in some. Color could be brought up in most of them. A little more contrast too.

The Christmas shots are my favorites. Baby in the Santa hat is great. Shot of the tree is similar to one of mine.

I went on your site. You have a good eye for composition in most of them. You have a very nice start. The Xti is a good starter camera for you.

You have 4 shoots lined up? You mean four clients to do portraits for? Great. I do things for people all the time (no charge at this point, I simply enjoy it.) I also shoot portraits for a preschool every year.

You might want to look into getting a flash unit. I have no idea if you have money or not to put into this but there are different lenses and lighting you can go into if you decide to get even more into it.

Thanks. I actually do have a flash unit, an old 420ex (got it for free, can't complain I guess). It was used in all of the baby pics. And yes, I have 4 portrait shoots lined up. I'm fairly nervous. I've done a couple of paid gigs, but they were friends or friends of friends. 2 of the 4 are complete strangers. Eeep!

Thanks guys, you're making me feel good about myself. haha :lol:

I shoot with a Rebel XTi and 50mm f/1.8. I Occassionally bust out the Speedlite 420ex but I'm really not a huge fan of it. I much prefer natural light.

I'm renting a 24-70mm f/2.8 for a week (I should receive it next Tuesday) - not really ready to invest that kind of money on a lens, but I'm excited to try it out.
