Newborn babies in the buff

I see a lot of newborn pictures with naked,sleeping babies and I've read the suggestions for making sure they are fed so they are nice and sleepy. However, my question is what to do about the diaper. Do you put them down for a nap without one? If you take it off just before the shoot, they will have red wrinkles all over their waist and legs. How do you get around that? I am doing a newborn shoot this week and debating whether to attempt this style of photo.

newborn diapers are not that tight, they tend nt to leave any marks.

If they do leave any marks they go away very quick.

I have been putting a very loose cloth diaper on them to get rid of diaper marks and to catch any last minute pees. And LOTS of layers under them when you put them down. A waterproof layer/absorbent layer/top layer
Newborns pee frequently...sometimes...but generally not a whole lot volume wise. Now poop is another story. Have mom feed the baby right before you shoot. Sometimes eating will stimulate them to poop and will hopefully empty them out.
Eating also makes them sleepy, which is a good thing
