way too much blanket.. not enough baby....

Thanks for the input much appreciated. Yes this was my first newborn shoot and I am learning a lot from it.

The other blanked I had and wanted to use was a lot better but the baby had thrown up on it 3 times and had gone to the bathroom on it earlier in the shoot so I had to improvise.

I have learned and will continue on from here.

#2 skin tones are terrible.. she looks green. and blown out. Your post processing needs serious work. Please post the original. If that looks good to you, you really need to calibrate your monitor. Horizon is way off ... very distracting! Not trying to be rude.. just giving my honest opinion.

I appreciate the opinion and crits, On my screen it is golden and I see no green on the skin tones hmm mabey my monitor is jacked.

here is a before and after.

i think a wrong white balance in the original of the girl with b/flies....

I liked your edit of the saddled kid better because it looks much awkward when somebody supports the baby like that from below
But somehow i like how he is seen...half slept...so half seen.....

i think you half merged the butterflies well ; the upper one is seen in a natural angle; but not the lower one...better remove that to give originality :D

The original of the girl.. she is underexposed, due to being backlit with no fill. Frequency's edit is probably as good it is going to get.... (nice edit!) He didn't overexpose he face, and he kept it warm enough to let her look healthy and normal.

Ok i see what you guys mean, tone down the exposure and make sure my WB is correct when shooting. I think when the sun is still really bright I am going to avoid shooting with my 50 1.4...this usually happens when I go with it.

Appreciate all your help everyone

Here are 2 more from that shoot, this baby would just not sleep which made it harder as well. I tried everything and she just wanted to stay awake.
