NEX-FS 700 file is .MTS how can i transfer it to FCP?

Hi all. I was using NEX-FS 700 and I just realize the format result is .mts I was confuse what is .MTS?
I tried to use the memory card, log and transfer to FCP it works at first. but it was test shots and now for the actual one i couldnt managed to transfer it directly. What i did was i transferred the file into my laptop (which doesnt have FCP) and found out that FCP doesnt want to read the files from my hard disk. I tried to borrow the memory card reader and another memory card from somebody, put in the files but FCP still doesnt want to recognize it. Anybody know how to solve this?
im really desperate to get the files converted to apple pro res 422. please help. thx..

If the .MTS file is on your camera, you can import it to your Mac through iMovie and then export the MTS from iMovie to FCP. But if your .MTS file in on your Mac Laptop or hard drive, you have to use a mts converter to convert it to apple pro res 422 for FCP. You might want to look at Clipwrap as well. It has a rewrap option that avoids transcoding. ClipWrap: Easy AVCHD and HDV conversion for the Mac
