NG Photographer Injured in Africa

I just came across this article:

Regarding an accomplished photographer by the name of Bobby Model who was injured when a piece of concrete came through the vehicle's windshield, which he was riding in, during a trip in South Africa. He is currently listed in critical condition and 'detoriating' - I can't imagine how painful this is for his family.

Upon visiting his site, I realized that the first image in his 'people' section is actually the winner of the People category in the Banff Mountain Photography Competition of 2005 (I believe) as well as the winner of the sports category in 2006 - he shot that particular image with a Holga as seen here:

I hope all the best for him and his family.

Correction: It was not the sports category, but indeed the Mountain Adventure category.

What an awful story - apparently this kind of rock-throwing at vehicles has been on the increase in that area. :thumbdown:

Tragic for Model and his family. He's young (~33) and fit, so here's hoping he rallies and recovers.
