Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Still lifes.

Good lighting and great post processing.

thanx for you quick reply...
yes it is still life...
but it looks like painting.. is it only photoshop.. or something else?!!

It is a very elaborate, very knowledgable use of lights in the first place!
And if that is arranged and set up with the necessary knowledge, then not too much post processing is necessary. Only some to make them stand out the way they do, upping the contrasts some more, and sharpening the photos to the point of almost oversharpening them and voilà.
But this person KNEW what they were doing BEFORE they released the shutter.

some of it looks like HDR or a Dave Hill effect. It is Photoshopped I believe so.

It's definitely a combo of lighting and post processing. They look sort of HDR-ish; the last one is definitely HDR. The others, I'm not 100% sure (99%). It also looks like a high pass filter was applied in photoshop.

I'm sure the photographer took great pictures to begin with but they look very photoshopped.

And if? That doesn't diminish their quality in any way. It enhances what must have started out as good photography. It only shows that this photographer knows all there is to know to create some outstanding photos. Arrangement, composition, lighting, exposure to begin with. And all the pp-techniques to make his photos perfect.

One of the keys for getting that 'look' in post processing is managing the mid-tone contrast.

One of the tools that allows mid-tone contrast control is found in either Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) or Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (LR3) is the "Clarity" slider.

Another couple of time honored techniques they used were Dodge, Burn, and vignetting.

So they used a combination of good composition, good photographic technique, good lighting technique, and good post processing skills to make those images.

thank you all guys for sharing these information with me :)

knowing how to use photoshop would get you nearer :) Check out youtube tutorials!

I agree with most and especially KMH. The last one looks like possible HDR, but I don't think the others are. But someone definitely got jiggy with the Clarity slider. It looks like that and a bunch of fill light slider, then a whole bunch more black slider. Ut it started with good lighting and good capture.

I want to learn how to take pictures like these... any ideas what is that kind of pictures called? (or that technic/light effect) so that i can look for tutorials for it?
theses are the pictures:
