Personally, I like it! Do you get any sunrises or sunsets with that view? I cant tell what direction this is pointing.

I am facing north. You can see the Big Dipper in the sky and the light in the clouds is lightning.

Ah. LIGHTNING it is! Wow, even yesterday I thought that the light in the cloud gave this photo THE appeal (which it otherwise wouldn't have had, I'm afraid). I was going to ask if that could have been the moon behind the clouds but didn't ask. But the moon does not give off this amount of light. Now at last I know: lightning it is. Cool.

The horizen is split down the middle but I wanted to capture the Big Dipper.

The illuminated clouds make this photo. Just wish there were more..... whaddya mean you can not control weather patterns?!?

You might have gone with a tighter shot of the thundercloud, since it is the subject of your composition. It's much too distant.
