Hi. first post, thanks for any comments.

- I wonder if anyone else is into darker shots and bigger, that is, more context oriented, cropping Does this do anything for you? There's a lot of lines and things for your eye to follow into the sunset. Anyone notice this?

- Shot with a Nikon D70. I'll look up the exif data. It was 8 or 9.

Also notice the slight noise. There was no post-processing in this picture. Partly because I'm lazy, partly because I think the noise gives an effect. Grain is better looking than noise, but I think the noise is good here.

Back to my "context" notion. I've been framing with background in mine. I've tried to capture a feel as if the kid would skate no matter what time or where it was. But also, with the other kids in the frame, the sentiment is shared amongst his friends.

is the boy dead center? "dead"--- it tends to make a photo static when the subject is centered.
i don't know really what comments you are looking for. My personal likes are pictures a little closer to subject... and back light of sun... I guess it's used for intention, but I don't know what that is.

I like the lines, and the lighting. But the two, I'll call them "sun spots" near the center of the shot are a little distracting, other than that, good job

Yea you can't really see anything, and its not a full silloutte either, its just like a half in focus person doing something.
