Very - Old historical part of Kyoto which has been kept original, not just the buildings but the traditions as well - You can, if lucky, spot real Geisha's, many of the residents here still wear traditional kimonos and follow traditional customs. Spotlessly clean of course just like the rest of Japan and very meticulously maintained and organised.
Will post a few more now I am back from the trip when I get a chance to edit them.
