Nikon 24-120 vr?

I'm looking for a lense for a film nikon, i have a n75 right now probably going to pick up an F100. I want something in the range of 24-120, so is it a good lense. If not what else is there, in that range?

I think the OP was referring to the VR although I have alot of experience with the lens you listed and think it is an excellent lens. From what I have seen of this lens it is a very nice lens but I have no personal experience with it.
