Good morning,

I have just bought a Nikon D3100. Seems automatic bracketing is not available. Am I correct? If yes, how can it be done manually?

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Claude

I just got one too. I hope you are wrong. I don't have my camera or manual with me now.

Hope to receive my 18-55 lens today via UPS.

Have Fun and Good Luck

Correct, the D3100 does not have automatic exposure bracketing.

You can do it manually with the camera in M, A, or S shooting modes.

Keith, I'm sorry I'm at work but interested. Are you saying it does have "bracketing" but you have to set the variables?

Thanks, Mick

^^^ Thanks for talking me through it when I couldn't get to my gear to see for myself. I am disappointed because I want to learn HDR. I have tried once with my D7000 and thanks to a bro here for getting me started. ( I want to thank him proper when I can show some real progress).

Even with a tripod, changing exposure settings seems shaky, which seems counter productive for HDR.

Mick

It's not a problem if you have a good tripod. I used a Giottos tripod and Manfrotto 3-way head, and bracketed the exposures for this HDR manually:
