I am selling my AIS version of this lens because I prefer the 35mm focal length on my D40 and don't really use this lens. The focus ring is a little stiff at the closer focus distances but is fine the rest of the way around. I'll post pics in a little.

I can vouch for this lens, I sold it to him a little while ago. The focus is a bit stiff as he describes, but it's optically good and in otherwise good shape.
