Nikon D100 problem

Hi,
I have a Nikon D100 and for some reason unknown to me the shutter speed will not change even when it is ment to be changed. Does anyone know of this problem and could help me?

tell us a little bit more about what you have tried, what modes you are shooting in and what conditions

I have tried shooting on all conditions, using various modes and have tried changing the shutter speed, even when it says 1/1000 of a sec it takes about 1/8 of a sec to actually close.

can you shoot longer than 1/8th? It may be sticking.

I sorted the problem after all it was just sticking. Thanks.
