I ran out of light tonight while I was playing with ducks. I always hear keep the D300 under ISO 800. I have pushed to 1600 before, but I had to push to 2500 than 3200. I thought others might like to see the results on the ancient sensor.. I think I will be shooting the D300 for quite awhile. Sure I lost DR and feather detail, and I shot a little overexposed, but it was my first Gadwall.

Hot shoe flash unit on a Nikon SC-29 TTL Coiled Remote Cord, handheld off the hot shoe.

I used the D3 and the D300 in my studio and for action sports, and I had a backup for each too.

handheld off the hot shoe..

I don't have enough hands (I shoot handheld) :( I have tried a better beamer once and didn't like it. I occasionally use flash but even with negative EC I often find it too harsh and bird's eye get really strange. I do have a flash bracket and a off shoe cord maybe I will try it next time..
