Hey guys !

This Christmas Ill get my camera !!! *-*
Before I saw the Nikon D5000
I wanted to buy the Nikon D80

but now Im not sure anymore..

And Ive got a question to you all !
Which Cam is better ?
Dont look at the price only
the quality is important !
and why one of these cams is better!

Thanks !
p.s: sry for my english :-s

Better for what? Pot shots around the house, either will do... You'll need to be more specific.

D5000 is better than the D80 in ISO, however the D80 has a top LCD, internal motor for older non-AFS lenses, dual command dials, etc.

for portraits, landscapes and bulidings
most pics will be made with a 50mm lens

You do know if it is the 50mm f1.8 AF-D you will lose AF on a D5000?
As the D5000 doesn't have built in motor like the D80.
.

Don't purchase the D5000 yet. The D5100 is coming soon and you might want to check out the D3100 with it's goodies, like a new apc sensor and 14mp instead of that crappy ccd sensor from the D3000.

There are two D80's and one D70 in one of my local pawn shops.

The D5000 has a better sensor (same as the d90/d300), but the d80 is better in other ways (more external controls, AF motor)

Note: The D80 is around $100 cheaper on the used market, and you'll save even more when you consider how much $$ you'll save on AF vs. AF-S lenses.
