I can pick up a Nikon D90 body with less than 7500 shutter count for $80. I’ve seen different places where people rave about this camera. Is it a worth while pick up. I would need to pick up a lense also, seeing how everything I have is for Canon.

I've got nothing to complain about the D90 I had a few years ago, always gave me superb images, I actually preferred it to the D7000 I bought afterwards.

It's a well, made, sturdy camera. It's out of date as far as resolution, ISO range, and AF goes, at 1.3 megapixels, 200-3200 ISO, and only 11 focus points, but it's built on an all-metal frame and as far as I recall, good weatherproofing. My D7200 outperforms it in almost every way, but I paid a bit more than 80 bucks for it, even second-hand. :chuncky:

For everyday snapshooting these cameras are stone-cold bargains. With even cheap Nikkors, they produce truly nice images. After all, most shots are shared online anyway so who needs top-shelf FX resolution for that?

Wow, that was my favorite camera long time ago. It's a tank, I loved it, it's nice to see that it's still on the battle ground! I would buy it, definitely, just check the overall state of the camera.

I grabbed this D90 for $80 last year and finally got around to getting a Nikkor 35mm 1.8G lens for it today. Pretty happy with the purchases, especially for getting all of it for under $200. I might add another lens eventually, but the 35 should work well for now.

Nice kit! With the 50mm equivalent lens, you'll have a great all-purpose camera--reminiscent of the outfit so many film shooters started with for decades. Those Chinese-made G lenses are--critics be damned--great value. The 35mm, 40mm macro, 50mm, and 85mm are truly nice. Have fun and do post the results whenever suits you.

Had one years ago. Loved it but lost my enthusiasm for photography and sold it. Now I feel it again. Bought a D5000 which is pretty comparable. Loved it on vacation so got me a D5600. Hopefully I can make it sing like the D90. Post some pics when you have a chance.
