What's new

Nikon F6

Well it is the official Nikon site in Japan. That is where they're manufactured isn't it? By Nikon correct? You've a better source by all means share.

I simply pointed out that I have not seen an announcement from Nikon saying the F6 is discontinued which is their usual practice when discontinuing products. And, the F6 is still shown on the Nikon USA site as a current product.

Maybe it has been discontinued. I don't know. I wasn't planning on buying one so I don't really care.

And I never said it was discontinued simply posted factual information corroborated by the manufacturer.

Sure do have a lot to say for someone who doesn't care.

Suspect remaining inventories of F6 bodies will be not be replenished since production likely ceased some time ago. It was a bit of a dud, due less to design than poor timing. Well-heeled amateurs--not pros who were moving en masse to digital--were the mirage-like market Nikon aimed for. Why plunk down close to three grand when used F5 and F100 bodies were thick on the ground around 2005 and later?

More troubling, though, is the hint in the link below that Nikon is looking to chop back the F-mount DX ecosystem to make way for more Z-mount MILC bodies and lenses. Lots riding on that move should they choose to make it.

Nikon finally gives up on film - discontinues the F6 SLR and other products - DIY Photography

I have simply made an observation, provided a link and briefly answered a few comments. You seem far more emotional about this than I am.

Once again: Maybe the F6 is discontinued. Fine. What is there to argue about? Why not just have a nice holiday?
