I stopped by a small art gallery in the Sierra's, and the photographer apparently (according to a little plaque) shot 35mm Nikon Slide Film - in the picture, it appeared as though he had a modern SLR with a slide back, any resources/info on this? All my searches have yielded older cameras - from the looks of it, he had a modern camera and still shot film slides

Thanks in advance!

"slide back" ? Hmm, never heard of that.

If he was shooting 35mm roll film, with an SLR ... could have been the later F series (ie F6/F5).
... could also be possible he was using a Hasselblad with a 35mm (panoramic) film back.

it looked like there was some form of contraption on the back of the camera.. what exactly are film slides?

No such thing as Nikon slide film

There is film which produce a slide, not a negative. A slide is a positive image. It is still available but not as many types as in the past. There are 35mm slide films, 120 slide films, 4x5, 8x10, but at these sizes are using refered to as transparence.

Perhaps he had a MF camera with a changeable back that would allow 35mm film. THat could be a variety of cameras, Just google MF cameras with removeable backs and you should come up with a long list.

Probably should have read that he shot 35mm slide film, with a Nikon camera/lens.
