Hey Guys & Ladies,

I have a question for anyone can tell me what everything is worth in the picture and what I wrote in my thread and guidance help...I bought a Nikon Coolpix L110 that came with the Zeikos .45x wide angle lens professional HD DSLR with UV filter 67mm, 67mm to 72mm adapter, 16gb Patriot memory card, Zeikos carrying bag plus the 82mm video filter kit by Bower. I bought everything for $130 the young guy was loosing his house and family. He stated he paid close to $600 for all this? Is this true?

Now for the guidance help...I was told by the owner of the camera before I bought it from him he claims that I could buy a 82mm flower lens hood. Since I live in Florida where the sun is always out. But the thing is I am having trouble finding which brand of lens hood I could purchase. Anyone can recommend a recommendable one for me to purchase? I went to a local camera store all they had was 72mm & a 77mm flower lens hood.

Now for the pictures I am sorry for the size of the pictures.

Check eBay, thats the best place to find used prices in my opinion. There is one that I see going for about 160, without the extras that came with yours. Not a steal, but a deal.

I checked on eBay looks like I did make a great deal. He wanted the price of $130 for everything listed in the picture's above.

What you bought was worth a bit more than you paid.

Like what I told xjoewhitex I made a great deal on everything. Not sure if I could use the video filters on the setup that is on the camera but I'll read up on it more information here soon. Thank you for the replies guys.

If anyone can help me it would be appreciated. Are the flower lens hood really worth it? I know it blocks the sun when your outside and it blurs the pictures a little bit and the flower lens hood blocks the sun from doing that. If I do need one because I plan on taking picture/shots out in the sun...Which manufacture should I buy from that has a 82mm flower lens hood?

hoods are typically worth it, let them be petal like or regular; petal like is used when the lens end does not rotate during zooming or focusing. Since they are just a piece of plastic or so, you might take more or less what you want (e.g., like this). On the other side, what do you need to be careful of is focal length, because a hood for a tele may be too long for a wide lens (and I'm not sure about the one I linked, from this point of view).
In addition to that, I would go for a hood to be used mostly without the wide add-on. At wide end the hood should be very small (0.45x * 28= 13mm... a hood might be a centimeter long) , and there is no reason to let there a cheap wide lens in front of the real lens on any other occasion. So, go for 67mm.

So I should take off the .45x wide angle lens? And add a 67mm lens? Not sure if i understood that correctly what would you recommend on for a 67mm lens or a lens hood if you were talking about that. Great information your giving me I have alot to learn and willing to learn well! :)

Your camera has a builtin 28-420mm (equivalent) zoom, in your case hidden behind an aftermarket sort of cylindric adapter ending with a 67mm diameter thread (from your description). To that end, a ring from 67mm to 72mm (diameter) is attached, to which an add-on lens (0.45x) is attached too, with a 82mm (diameter) thread at its end. The add-on lens shortens the focal length of the zoom to 13-190.
Your seller told you to attach a hood to the add-on lens. I'm just telling that the add-on lens you already have might be useful only at the wide end of the zoom, and it is much better you unscrew it any time you need more than 28mm of focal length (because it degrades the image quality). If you unscrew it, at its place you might attach either a 67mm hood or a 72mm hood, since you have the adapter ring between the two measures. The add-on is not something you want always there.

I just learned something new. Tomorrow I'll be buying the 67mm or 72mm flower lens hood not sure if there's a correct term for the lens hood that looks like a flower. The add on your talking about is the adapter piece? What would you recommend on buying 67mm or 72mm?

you can find them als under the name "petal" hoods.
My recommendation is: just start shooting, no need to continue shopping; what you have is already ok. If you are at the beginnings, you might live without hood. Shoot with and without converter, and learn the differences (and also and before learn photography basics!). By the way, 67 or 72 would be the same, but as I already wrote, I'm not sure about the length... it's not that a hood is good for every focal length, although petal-like allow for some more flexibility. Too long of a hood will be seen in the picture, at short focal lengths. As an example, look at this and at this, made for different lenses (for Canon but the principle is the same). Since your zoom has a wide range, it will be difficult to have an hood good for all focal lengths.

I did away with the wide angle lens setup and bought myself the .67mm lens Promaster System Pro lens hood working with the 67mm UV filter. Thank you for your help!
