Nikon MB-D11 for Nikon D7000 by Light Artisan Photography, on Flickr

For anyone who is interested or curious about the MB-D11 battery grip, I got mine yesterday and so far I really like it.

The fit and function is as it should be from Nikon, and much like other Nikon battery grips. The fit is more like the one on my D300s where you don't need to remove the battery cover on the camera body to install it, however you need to remove the grip to change the camera battery. I have mine set to use the MB-D11 battery first since it's quicker/easier to change that one out.

It's a solid build with nice rubber grip, even better than what is on the camera itself oddly enough.

damnnnnn i want mine! another 2 weeks and it should be here i guess.

thats what i ordered, the body, the grip and 2 extra batteries

Nikon has said the D7000 is not a replacement for the D90.

Perhaps that's an indication of things to come? Or, the MB-D11 will also be for the D400(?).

Yep but Nikon should really have to pay penance to the Goddess Nikonia for what they are charging for it. :er:

Not sure if they'll use it for the D300s replacement, that would mean it would have to have the same dimensions as the D7000, at least width and length, which historically hasn't been the case.

I'm hoping to order my grip soon!! I can't wait to get it, especially for the feel of it

Ok so I just received my MB-D11 and extra EN-EL15 battery in the mail and i LOVE it!! But I have one question. When I only have a battery in my D7000 body everything works fine, but if I have a battery in both the body and the grip the camera won't turn on?? I have fully charged both batteries and I can't figure out what the problem is. I switched the trays in the grip to the AA battery tray and that works perfectly. Can anyone help me with this problem?? Thanks -Sam

Only thing I can come up with is your camera is set to use the battery in the grip first, and that battery is faulty. Try swapping the battery's, grip to camera and see if it will turn on with that combination.

And to add to the thread, my mb-d11 is amazing! Ive been using a cheapo grip on my d40x since Nikon didn't make a version for it. And now finally using a Nikon grip wow what a difference, the shutter button and controls I love it.
