Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey, my name is Mark. I've always had an intrest in photography but i've only just recently started to really get into it. I don't really have a plan to ever do this professionally it's just become a hobby of mine. As of right now I don't have a dslr, but I am saving up to get a rebel xs. The camera i've been using for the past year or so is a Canon powershot A1100 IS....point and shoot. The options on that camera are pretty limited but I try my best to make do with what i've got. As for the Name Freeman Photography, I couldn't think of anything so I just used my name. Unfortunatly I was recently informed that "Freeman Photography" is already used by a company who does school photos. I'm not to worried about making a name so i'll change that someday. Here are some of my favorites. Let me know what you guys think, good or bad.

Hi Mark,

I don't think it matters what camera you use. The photographer makes the pic, not necessarily the camera. Think of all the famous photos from years and years ago. Your point and shoot is eons ahead of those.

I like all the compositions. They're all interesting.

Good luck.

Danny

For future reference number all the photos. You have about half-ish good pictures and the rest look like snap shots. I like #7 the best.

I liked the way you really cropped in close to the subject on #1. Number 2 didn't do too much for me but you captured the sky nicely. Your first HDR has an almost painting like quality to it. I can't quite place the style but it's a keeper.

I added the numbers, sorry about that. Most of my friends liked #7 the best too. Thanks guys. Yea i couldnt deside wether i liked that hdr one or not, its difficult to get those to come out well with my setup

i think you know more and have a better eye than a majority of people who slr's anyway so just keep it shooting and learning till you do get one. I think youy have some decent shots with some decent composition. I personally like the first hdr, yea obviously its fake looking but its a fun one.

Thanks man! That was the first hdr I ever tryed. I had to set the camera on a saw horse that was out there, which made for a ghetto tripod but everytime I would take a picture the camera would move slightly so yea it took awhile. Atleast I found a use for all the junk in my backyard.

4 is really cool.

Danny
I appreciate it. My plane was delayed at Chicago Midway so I had some spare time. I was taking pictures out that window for like 10 or 15 minutes and when I was done I turned around and everyone was staring at me like they'd never seen anyone do that.

I just learned a very very important lesson in photography...always always always back your work up. My laptop crashed about an hour ago and if I can't get someone to recover it then everything is gone. Thats not the first time it's crashed but it's the first time I actually have stuff on it I care about. I did manage to get these uploaded to my facebook before it went down.
(um not sure if I should contiue the numbers from where I left off but I will)

Numbers 1 and 7 are my favorite as well. I also think 5 is really pretty good, although you might want to try running it through some noise reduction software.

Apparently you don't know the capabilities of film very well. 35mm can do amazing things. Nevermind getting into 4x5 or 8x10.

Thanks man. I don't...or didn't have a good editing program. I was using Microsoft picture it, no idea how old that is but it wasn't very good. Since my laptop crashed i'm without any program now. I need to get a nice one like photoshop but I'm not down to drop the money for that...yet

another thing for future reference, post 3-4 pictures at a time

7 is really good imo. 18 and 19 are good too, but not great, they're missing something. 16 and 17 are like over-edited.
And number 20 freaked me out, I swear to god it looked just like this picture I have from last winter and I went through all these old photos to make sure it wasn't lol.
Also, 14 is beautiful.

19 needed to be compossed better and maybe a smaller dof. I personally think all my hdr ones look over edited but it's a fun thing to mess around with anyway. Ha, thats funny you thought 20 was yours, yea I wouldn't steal anyone elses photos. 14 isn't my normal type of photography but it ended up bring one of my favorites. Thanks I appreciate your input.

Well I was planning on getting the Rebel XS...but it's no longer on the Dell website. The next step up they offer on their site is the Rebel T1i, so looks like i'm gonna go ahead and get that insted. Which is cool with me, even though it's alittle more expensive I have a feeling i'm gonna get more out of it and come to enjoy it alittle more than the xs. I could care less about the hd video part, cause I don't even own an hd tv so yea:( I know, i'm behind the times

Hey, nice stuff! I have been to that spot in #18 many many times. Good to see a fellow Austinite on the boards!
