No Images

I appear to have lost the rights to upload pics. Can this be fixed?

I can upload from photobucket but I cant upload directly into a post from my computer.
I get this:


Is there a cache that I need to empty or something?

I just worked out I can upload JPG only is this normal?

What happens after you try to upload?

Try uploading a different image.

Just noticed that this is in the "manage attachments" box:

Valid file extensions: jpe jpeg jpg

So I cant upload PNG or GIF.

Is this normal?

The reason I noticed was that I created a PNG with a transparent background for a thread and of course it will go white when i convert to JPG.

I am trying not to use photobucket as it mangles a lot of images especially animated GIFS.

Why does it say PNG and GIF are allowed when obviously they are not.

I doubt the forum software allows un-flattened images. So the transparent background will be the issue. Flatten it to a single layer, or just convert it to a .JPEG.

so dont upload directly to this server--host your own images--and link them using tags.

there's tons of free hosting places that don't mangle images. your google account (used to be picasa), imgur, tinypic, etc...

This forum does not support PNG at all through the attachment function, other forums do. It has nothing to do with transparency.

Then perhaps the upload window needs to be changed to delete the .png as an allowed file type.
