I am not at all impressed by a message that I received today, both on here and into my email address. Was from some person who thought it might be nice to send a not too nice photo. A young girl who was visiting (neice almost 6) happened to open my email (like an idiot I had gone to make a cup of tea and left my email open) and came out asking what they were doing.:angry1: I went back to the message to see if I could find the little 'send a msesage' sign but there wasn't one on it. I shouldn't have to try and explain anything to a young person from what is a friendly forum, I realise that you have so many posts in the you cannot check them all. is there some kind of link that you can add that picks up on certain words that can halt messages like this TY One very very angry aunty
Sadly no one can know what someone sends in a private message, one reason its called a private message. I'm sure the admin are looking at ways of stopping this but in the 2 years I've been on here I've never heard of spam happening this way As soon as I noticed lots of members online all looking at private messages I alearted the MODS and the other spam police and we started to ban the spammers. I was up till gone midnight banning people and looking out for spam. I was lucky enough to not get any but If I had got one I might of been able to stop it earlier. Belive me none of us wanted this to happen
I have just got home from work and my wife told me I had an email about a new private message. I haven't been active on this site for some time and was confused. I opened it up and saw a picture of a sexual nature which was also a link. I assume it linked to some porn site. My wife was upset and i had to assure her it was nothing to do with me or any private message I had sent out. I guess I am a victim of this spamming too and would like to think it will NEVER happen again. Dave
