Not your average campsite...

I think I'm finally "getting it." So, people can fly to an airfield, park their aircraft, and camp beside the runway? I never heard of this, but what would I know about it since I don't fly?! Hehe.. Now it makes more sense to me (very slow brain, here). In that case, perhaps he should put back the chair.

I just wish the tent was rotated a little more to the left, but oh well. What's the point of photographing a fly-in camping trip if you don't capture the actual campsite and the fly-in part??? As far as being "busy" I probably should have just called the airport manager and told him to turn off the those gosh darn runway lights. They're annoying! But when was the last time you saw runway lights at the KOA??? OH, that's right, because it's "NOT YOUR AVERAGE CAMPSITE"! Personally, I like photos that pull me in and make me look around for little details.

This photo really was an exposure nightmare. It was actually pretty dark out, like and hour after sunset. I was trying to get everything behind the fire exposed and some stars in the sky while not blowing out the fire, sky or the bright lights too much (that didn't work out 100%) while still getting detail in the trees and foreground.

Thanks for your comments & yes I agree the tree is a little too red. Looking back at the OG, there is a little useable green hiding in there.
