Nude Maternity pictures need help question about backdrops?

Please clarify Jerry or anyong you recommended to get

- Light stand
- Peanut optical trigger
- Sunpack 383

Now am I clear that I need to have the light stand to hold the sunpack 383 and the peanut optical trigger will be on the sunpack and I will only use my internal flash on my actual camera which in turn triggers the peanut to make the other flash go off?

I will not be putting the sunpack 383 on my camera to take pictures indoors?

Sorry I need to be clear I did check ou the site you recommended

Do a search for these at one of the forum sponsors (Adorama or B&H).

Strobe on light stand (some stands come with a hotshoe mount, others do not. If not thats a whole $15 dollars more). Strobe comes with a sync cable. Stick one end into the sync port on the flash, the other end into the optical trigger. This end is done.

Turn camera flash on manual, set it to some low level for tests, turn on the off-camera strobe, set it to something like 1/4 power to test... press camera shutter button, both flashes should fire.

Now, you basically have a 2 flash system. By controlling the strength of the flashes, you can control the lighting in your room.

One of the more difficult situations is shooting backlit pictures (person standing in front of a window with the sun shining through it). But since you control lighting, you can move to another location/direction or another time... or If you position the flashes properly, you still can get properly exposed pics even when shooting into the sun, like this for example.

Just wanted to share that in my hunting for a flash on craigslist I ran across a local ad from a photographer that is turning his photo studio into a co-op studio for 4 other photographers and himself. My husband and met with him today and signed the lease. Awesome deal 150 month 6 month contract and we get Ten 3hr sessions per month each. They will have a calender to log into where all the photographers can schedule their times and see when others are needing the space. What is more cool is I have access to all their lighting equipment props, and backdrops there are two studio rooms one is 22x26 and the other is 16x20 each wall is set up as a back drop of some sort.

I can't wait to get in and start learning how to shoot in a studio with lighting.

So excited :lmao: I can't tell you for those shoots that I need to get indoors like the maternity shots.

Can't wait to share my pics for critique.
