NYC Cityscape. Critiques welcome and encouraged, please!

I took both of these from the Brooklyn Bridge. I haven't touched them in post yet, but would love to hear what you all think. Thanks! Any suggestions for how to enhance these in post would be welcome, too. (I have updated, and took off the watermark, and touched up the second photo a bit, but would still love suggestions since I am new to this whole thing.. thanks!)

First impressions: both shots are very cluttered, particularly the first one - my eyes do not know where to focus or what the subject is. In the second one, there seems to be some type of reflection in the middle of the image - not sure what it is, but it is distracting. On closer look, the same reflection is also visible in the first image. Frankly, I would not spend any time on them in post.

Is the reflection you are referring to my watermark? The only other one I can find is in the second picture above the bridge which I think might be a lens flare

I am not sure. In the second one I can make out something that looks like it says "Stanton Prescott". If that is your "watermark", then it is ruining the image. I am not sure why you have such a watermark. If you think it will stop folks from "stealing" your images, then you are mistaken. If I wanted to steal your image (I don't do that sort of thing), I could get rid of your "watermark" in a matter of minutes using Photoshop. If you want to show credit for your image, then you are better off putting a copyright, with the year and your name in very small letters, in one of the lower corners of your image.

How about putting some space between them so they don't run together.

thanks for the input. I won't be able to change it until later this week as I'm on the road... But I will take the watermark out and edit the post. Thanks again. I'd love to hear your input after I edit it

#1 has too much focus on the steel work, makes the shot weird.

Much better without the "watermark", but, what he said ^^^^^^^^. You know, this looks like one of those times when you try something and it just doesn't work the way you had hoped that it would. This happens to me all the time. Keep on shooting!
