Occupy Protester Shots - C&C away

Definitely not trying to start anything political here, but I was in Chicago last weekend and came across the Occupy protest so I couldn't resist getting a couple shots. Would love some critique on these! (keep in mind I was just using the popup flash and it was night)

The first one is very blurry and the light from the car behind seems to be something weird growing out of his head. I understand the intention, but I just don't find it to be a good shot any way I look at it. The second one definitely has some potential, his body and guitar make for nice lines and a decent composition.

I think that upload also made the shot a little blurrier than it is (but you're right, it's not as clear as I would have liked it). But I linked to a different upload, does that make a difference?
