Hey, I have a Japanese Maple that looks just like that.

I like Japanese maples. I'm attracted to any plant that doesn't have green chlorophyll.

It's good. What if you desaturated some the BG? The front leaves would jump a little more.

Thanks, I in fact did just that -- both a little desaturate and a little darken. I try not to make it too obvious, but I'll look at just a little more.
