gonna make it up to the Rockies next Spring if it kills me. Brookies fried crispy are possibly the best breakfast man has ever had.

yep, it is a Brown, but wifes family from up in the high elevations called any trout in their streams a brookie because they rarely grew larger that 6-8"

and you never ever argue with people who have been oxygen deprived most of their lives! :biglaugh:

In the streams I've fished in the Smokies, we'd call some of those a GOOD DAY. We were just there prior to the Gatlinburg fire, and unfortunately didn't get to fish.

Nice. Their good no matter how you cook them. But, on the river bank, over a fire, in a CI pan using bacon grease.....THAT'S the best breakfast man has ever had.

Haven't fly fished for trout in years. For the past 10 years we've fish them through the ice. Didn't get any last year. Ice was too thin. We need some ice. Man, I really want some trout.
