Oil bubbles on water, need help with post processing

Hi there,

I want everyone's opinion about the saturation and exposure of this pic.
To me it looks a tad overexposed and oversaturated. I did light PP processing
to make it a little darker as the original looked a little hazy and whitish.

It lacks inspiration, imo. For example, those drops are begging to be used as a refracting lens.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am very new with photography, can you please
tell me if I will be able to take advantage of the refractive index of the drops
with my 18-55mm kit lens or will I need a macro lens for it ? Also can you link
me to a few examples showcasing the same.

Maybe try some coloured material under the container...
