So I have only used my flash kit once before because of the lack of models. I had a maternity shoot last weekend. I think Im getting better. Anyways what do you guys think. I took 50 shots in 1.5 hours, 10 of which were test shots ( no light meter) and after narrowing them down I got 10 great shots. Is that enough shots. I shoot for free. Also I would like to print some of these has anyone had any experience with london drugs. What should I print these on, canvas or gloss paper. What is better between 4 and 5, Color or bw. Please guys if you dont like maternity stuff dont comment. I know some of you cringe of a pregnant belly.

Well, I am one of those who are not a big fan of maternity, so I am not sure about the poses.

The light that you have looks pretty good to me, but it looks like you are only using one source. What is your setup? To me, it looks like you needed another source in the shadows to help retain the detail that has been lost. Another flash or reflector would have worked.

Thanks for sharing.

The poses and background look great. Beautiful model.

Uni-directional lighting is pretty dramatic, and I'm not sure it's what you want for maternity. It will really accentuate her body. A second light at a lower setting or a bounce to fill in the shadows a bit would soften and improve the left-right light balance.

I had a second flash but i I'm not too good with ratios without a light meter so I kept getting flat lighting. I used one monolight 45° up and around 70° to her left. I do agree a reflector would have been nice to light up the shadows. Its funny that folding on the backdrop was an accident. The duct tape (i know ghetto) fell off and the sheet folded by accident. When I looked at my camera screen I was surprised at how it looked.

#3 is my fav. #2 would have been perfect if you didn't cut off her arm. These are nice... i like the dramatic lighting.

Thanks next time I'll buy a reflector
