Very nice. So how do you do it? What's your set up? I want to copy.
not sure if you mean about the metal or the photos.
for the metal- i never really start out with a plan. i go out to an area where we keep scrap metal, i grab what i feel is interesting. i got to a huge grounded work bench and start looking at all the metal i have until i get some ideas, then i start welding.
for the welding i use a rod welder set up. then i weld, cool, grind and repeat until i get something i like.
for the photos- i went to michaels and bought a white piece of cardboard ment for school projects. it measures about 2.5 feet by 3.5 feet. i measured about 1.5 feet and cut the back(non white) side of the cardboard making sure not to cut all the way through. i folded it along the cut line. i know have my white background.
i always use bounced flash from my sb-600 so i shoot in a square ceiling part of my house.
as far as the setting for the photos i dont recall exactly for these photos but it something along these lines.
iso something sub 300 probably 100 or 125
50mm at f3-f6
shot from about 3 feet.
as far as shutter speed i try and stay around the reciprocal of the iso. in other words if my iso is 100 then my shutter speed is somewhere around 1/100th of a second.
i shoot in raw and set the wb in camera to flash and do my final wb adjustments in ps.
