Okay, the subject is perfect, so...
To my eye, there's way too much black. I also find the light a bit too harsh/direct for the little cutie. It gives me the impression of a small light source close to the subject. I think more diffuse light would go a long way. Maybe a stronger light but behind a white shower curtain or bounced off of some foam core. Her eyes are also lost in shadow. A reflector would help even that out.
I tried a crop to lose some of that black and used a masked layer for a curve adjustment on her eyes. It needs more tweaking, but that shows the idea anyway. I also adding +15 red and +5 green with a color adjustment. Don't know if that really helped or not, but it looks nice on my monitor.
