Old lenses on a new camera

Hi there everyone! I'm curious abut a few old lenses that my father has from when he was in college, and said I can use them on my camera. I'm working with a Canon Rebel T5i, and I know the Nikons will not fit but I found several inexpensive adapters on ebay and other websites. Could any of you possibly tell me a bit about the lenses I've found (whats worth trying to shoot with, etc.), and what adapter (size/brand/mount) I should look into purchasing? Equipment below.

Nikon Series E 50mm 1.8
Nikon Series E 28mm 2.8
Five Star 28-135mm 3.8-5.2
Star D 80-205mm 3.9

I currently only have 18-55mm and a 55-250mm Canon lenses, so I've never shot with the focal lengths above. Any info that could be provided about them is greatly appreciated! thanks!

The Nikons are good lenses. Never heard of the other two.

Lenses of that vintage have aperture rings on the lens barrel, so the "basic" adapters will work nicely. There are Nikon F mount lens to Canon EOS body lens adapters that are sometimes referred to as "aperture control adapters" or "G-series" adapters or "pro-series adapters," and which have a small tab to control, the lens aperture on newer, G-series Nikon lenses that have NO aperture rings on the lens...luckily, you do not need that type of adapter. So...there are a boatload of adapters for sale on e-Bay. Novoflex brand makes the most costly and the highest-precision models; Fotodiox makes some nice adapters; there are scores of no-name models from CHina for $14.00 to $20.
