Post-war, Ford ran 3 divisions in N. America: Lincoln. Mercury and Ford till the 60s.G'day mate
I seem to remember from the 50s something called a Ford Mercury .... same thing?

-Ford 1903 to present.
-Mercury 1939-2011.
-Lincoln 1922 to present. Lincoln car company was founded by Henry Leland (also founder of Cadillac) in 1917, bought by Ford in 1922, run by Edsel Ford.
-(Lincoln) Continental was a separate division between 1956-1960 above Lincoln. Conti lost money every year as Ford's flagship then by 1960 rolled it into Lincoln.
