Agreed. It's not working in B&W

Any good HDR image with properly exposed highlights and shadows always makes a great B&W. In this case the highlights are both blown and filled in. For example the right hand pool table is blown but the lights in top left are grayed out. Yet they dont appear that way in the B&W. Weird inconsistent processing. The actual room itself is busy to the eye and no fault to the processing.
